1. Rest. Turn off phone (or put it in another room), lie on the couch for 20 minutes either in complete silence or if you struggle with that, read a book!
2. Have a warm bath or warm shower. Listen to music so it distracts you from thinking about your to do list or that argument you had with a work colleague.
3. Breathe consciously. Even if you are in your car at the traffic lights or at your desk in your office. Take three deep conscious breaths with your eyes closed. Just focus on the breath, nothing else.
4. Stretch. A five minute stretch on the lounge room floor while your food is in the oven or just before you hop into bed, will relax your muscles and get your blood flowing.
